Mylinda Dodson-Hoard, the passionate owner of Mylinda Renay Salon LLC, encapsulates her love for the beauty industry with a simple yet profound statement: “It is simple, I LOVE HAIR.” This fervor is further reflected in her words, “I wish I could put it into words how very thankful I am for loving what I do. I know everyone does not get this opportunity. I realize I am truly blessed.”
With over 43 years of experience in the beauty industry, Mylinda's journey has been marked by a relentless pursuit of excellence in hair design. From the very beginning, she knew she was destined to create beautiful hair and make others feel gorgeous. Her aspiration to learn and teach the art of hair design began in 1979, setting her on a path to become one of the most articulate and creative professionals in the field. Mylinda mastered management for one of the top ten salons in the USA and has earned numerous accolades, including being named one of the “Top Women in Business” in 2017 and recognized as one of the “2007 Top Twenty Influential Business Women of the Year” at the Great Women of Texas Event. Her techniques in men’s haircutting and styling have also been featured in the Star-Telegram and Men’s Workout Magazine.
Mylinda's involvement with the Art and Fashion Group of Dallas and her work at one of the top ten salons and spas in the United States highlight her exceptional skills and creativity in salon services. In 2000, she opened her own full-service, open-concept salon and spa, providing a relaxing and inviting environment for guests and staff. Under her leadership, the salon has gained renown for its expertise in hair extensions, cutting, and coloring, winning two international competitions for hair and makeup.
Mylinda attributes her success and passion for her craft to the talent God has given her in hair design. She finds great joy in helping clients look their best and providing complete educational consultations to explain how she will achieve optimal results. With her own fine hair, she has developed effective techniques to thicken and volumize thin hair.
Committed to staying current, Mylinda continually learns new techniques in color, cutting, and styling. She has studied in Germany, New York, California, New Orleans, and Dallas, ensuring that she remains at the forefront of the beauty industry. Mylinda also loves training and mentoring others, helping them enhance their craft in hair design.

Meet Cindy Toms: A Professional Hair Designer with 39 Years of Experience in the Beauty Industry
Cindy Toms has dedicated her life to the art of hair design, bringing 36 years of professional experience to her craft. She believes in the power of creativity to transform lives, stating, “I’ve always been a creative person, and this allows me to do that while helping others feel and look gorgeous.”
Cindy prides herself on providing a comprehensive professional consultation before each salon service, ensuring that every client receives a personalized experience tailored to their unique needs and desires.
Her expertise spans a wide range of salon services, including:
- Clipper cutting, a skill she mastered in New York while honing her barbering techniques.
- Women's services such as color, highlighting, hair extensions, perms, body waves, and formal or bridal hair styling.
- Men's barbering excellence, developed after she decided to expand her hairstyling skills.
Cindy’s skills have earned her a position in a top ten ranking hair salon in Texas for over nine years. She has a deep passion for all things hair-related, especially highlighting and perms. Her favorite hair types to work with are fine and curly, as she shares, “I have fine hair myself, and I understand how to work with it.”
Cindy’s preferred hair products are from the Wella line, with the newest addition, IME, being her latest treasure for styling her clients’ hair.
In addition to her extensive salon experience, Cindy has worked with pageant contestants to provide them with beautiful color, cuts, and styling. She continuously updates her education to ensure she delivers total satisfaction to her guests.
